Asia stocks climb tracking Wall St rally; Nikkei hits record high, China GDP beats
Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Travel & Leisure and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 1.48% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM), which rose 6.85% or 0.60 points to trade at 9.36 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) added 6.76% or 1.43 points to end at 22.66 and Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG) was up 6.52% or 0.95 points to 15.61 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF), which fell 4.31% or 2.04 points to trade at 45.34 at the close. Hera (BIT:HRA) declined 2.25% or 0.09 points to end at 4.08 and Snam SpA (BIT:SRG) was down 2.10% or 0.11 points to 5.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 439 to 199 and 29 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.05% or 1.25 to $62.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.94% or 1.24 to hit $65.15 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 3.17% or 106.01 to trade at $3,237.99 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 1.25% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.41% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.33% at 101.50.
