Trump says Iran war "close to over" amid hopes for more negotiations
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV:LABB), which rose 3.36% or 0.68 points to trade at 20.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) added 1.91% or 1.07 points to end at 57.18 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV:PEOLES) was up 1.61% or 8.10 points to 511.28 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Becle SA (BMV:CUERVO), which fell 4.17% or 0.93 points to trade at 21.38 at the close. Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV:BOLSAA) declined 3.38% or 1.43 points to end at 40.91 and Gentera SAB de CV (BMV:GENTERA) was down 3.09% or 1.33 points to 41.66.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 154 to 77 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV:MEGACPO) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.91% or 1.07 to 57.18.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.52% or 17.45 to $3,354.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.15% or 0.10 to hit $66.62 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.05 to trade at $68.75 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.03% to 18.71, while EUR/MXN rose 0.08% to 21.78.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 97.99.
